The Great Wall of China, built, added to, and rebuilt over many centuries, was intended to keep out central Asian invaders. It extends about 4,500 miles across Northern China. It is the longest structure ever built. Its length is about 4,500 miles long and it was erected entirely by hand. The wall crosses northern China between the east coast and north-central China. It is the only man made structure you can see in space.
